2022-02-19

On 19 February, the signing ceremony for the Innovation Research Institute established by Yingde Gases Group (hereinafter referred to as "Yingde Gases") in partnership with Xi'an Jiaotong University took place at the university’s administration building. Yingde Gases' CEO Fang Shiwen met with the University’s Party Secretary Lu Jianjun to engage in an in-depth discussion on the joint establishment of the Innovation Research Institute.

Fang Shiwen said the industrial gas sector has a long history, and cryogenic air separation has always been the core technology applied since the industry was formed a hundred years ago. He went on to say that the world has stepped into a new era with unprecedented changes, and the industrial gas sector is part of this era. The Innovation Research Institute was jointly established by Yingde Gases and Xi'an Jiaotong University with the aim of forming innovative solutions and performing cross-industry integrations amid these changing times. It is also a practical implementation of the company’s commitment to innovation and its vision of “leading in corporate social responsibility, making ongoing discoveries in gas applications, and being the leading supplier of industrial gases and services."

Furthermore, with "dual carbon" objectives in mind, both parties also participated in an in-depth discussion on energy storage technology, transforming the energy and power industry, building a carbon trading system, and promoting the green development of the electrical industry. Through this enterprise-institute partnership, both parties hope to create a new platform to perform scientific research and study industrial applications in high-technology fields such as low-carbon applications, energy storage, hydrogen energy, and carbon management in the gas industry. With both parties consolidating their resources and advantages in the industry and market, they are set to effectively transform science and technology into a social productive force and contribute to the development of China's low carbon efforts in the future.
